Nettles, one of our greatest native, natural superfoods, have been shown in clinical trials to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and clear uric acid from kidneys. Nettles are beneficial in the treatment of gout, arthritis, rheumatism, psoriasis, and asthma, amongst other conditions. A great source of iron, nettles are also packed with vitamins A, B1, B2, the mental agility vitamins; essential minerals; anti-oxidants, and are perhaps, most surprisingly, incredibly delicious!

Our flagship pesto is made with young succulent nettles grown in our own permaculture gardens, even though the local farmers laugh at us for GROWING nettles!

Wild about Winter Pesto label

Kale is a wild cabbage loaded with raw vitamins; 100g contains 700% RDA of Vitamin K, a cracking vitamin that builds bone density, #osteoporosis kicker. This delicious winter pesto is made with fresh raw kale containing vitamins A, C, and K and folate, a B vitamin that’s key for brain development; alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. (While kale has far less omega-3 than fish, it is another way to get some of this healthy fat into your diet.) Kale also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, nutrients that give kale its deep, dark green coloring and protect against macular degeneration and cataracts. No wonder it's a Superfood!

Dioscorides said that when rocket is consumed often, raw, and in great quantities, it awakes Aphrodite.  The Ancient Romans also considered it a potent aphrodisiac and used it to make 'love potions'! We can't guarantee anything on that front, but we can promise that this tasty early summer pesto is simply delicious and great for picnics, parties and pasta!

This delicious, sweet, fragrant lighter summer herb pesto is just perfect for great gatherings, good company and good food. Fresh cut basil, coriander and parsley combined with roasted sunflower seeds and a squeeze of lemon are like the taste of summer sunshine in a pot!

It may be a gardener's nightmare but the sweet pungent aroma of wild garlic in one of our favourite heralds of the Spring. Given its antibacterial, antibiotic, antiseptic and anti ... well, just about everything, properties, it makes sense to pack as much into your diet as you can. The headline health benefit of garlic is its effectiveness in reducing blood pressure and, hence, heart disease and the risk of stroke. Although all garlic has this property, wild garlic has the greatest effect on lowering blood pressure. Succulent young wild garlic leaves combine with zesty shallots to pack a punch of intense flavour into this sublime pesto for garlic lovers only!

As all our pestos are a raw food, they need to be refrigerated straight from purchase and after opening. Once opened, they should be used within a week. Our fresh delicious pestos are the perfect idea for a dinner party, picnic, snack or just a night in with good company!

Our pestos are excellent baked with fresh fish: salmon, cod, haddock, and hake, in particular. Simply smear the pesto over the raw fish, wrap in tin foil and bake in oven @ 180 for 20 minutes or so. Nettle & hake are an absolute winner!

Slice a 100% Irish chicken breast in the middle, stuff with your favourite in-season pesto, add in some mozzarella or cream cheese, if that takes your fancy, then wrap in Parma ham or streaky bacon and bake in the oven. Chicken stays moist and is beautifully flavoured by amazing pesto!

Garlic and lamb are ALWAYS an awesome combination so top your chops with a little pesto before cooking or, when you want to impress guests with a rack of lamb, combine pesto with a some breadcrumbs, egg wash your French-trimmed rack of lamb on the back side, paste on the pesto/breadcrumb mix and bake for 30-40 minutes @190, in a pre-heated oven. YUM!

Roast a dish chock-full of all your favorite veggies then mix through a good spoonful of Wild about Pesto at the very end. Delish! Healthy and oh-so satisfying too!

Enjoy with good company, a chilled bottle and a baguette or breadsticks, and nothing more than maybe a spoon, which we are happy to supply on request! For a change or to make the end of the jar go further, try mixing pesto with a soft cheese and a warm baguette and, of course, a great bottle of wine!

Fire a dollop of pesto into freshly cooked pasta with a wee bit of the pasta cooking water to loosen it up. Warm a dollop of cream cheese with a dollop of pesto and mix into freshly cooked pasta. Add a spoonful to a bolognese. . amazing!

The original! Crack a few spoons in with new season baby potatoes for THE BEST potato salad, hot or cold, or warm a few dollops and drizzle over fluffy mash.
